What is Marmaray?

Dream project came to an end.

Marmaray was a Project of combining two continents under Marmara Sea. 150 years ago Sultan Abdulmecid dreamed about it. Sultan Abdulhamit made engineers to draw illustrations. And today this dream is true. Marmaray Project which started in 2004, finished in 2013. And 29th of October, it started to give service. Marmaray is 62 meters under by the sea.

For now Marmaray starts from Kazlıcesme (Zeytinburnu ) and ends in Ayrılıkcesme (Kadikoy).
Stops are: Kazlıcesme – Yenikapi – Sirkeci – Üsküdar – Ayrılıkcesmesi 
Passengers who want to reach Marmaray from European side can take IETT buses from Zeytinburnu Metro Station and Yenibosna Metro Station.

Ticket price of Marmaray: Marmaray tickets have the same price with other metro transportations. Token costs 3.00 Turkish Liras and if you are using İstanbulkart then it costs 1.95 Turkish Liras. But passengers will not pay till 17th of November 2013.

From Kazlıcesme to Ayilikcesmesi, it lasts 15 minutes. And it lasts 4 minutes from one continent (Sirkeci) to other continent (Uskudar).

In the future lines will be extended to Halkali (European Side) and Gebze (Asian Side). After that stops will be like that:

Halkalı – Mustafakemal – Küçükçekmece – Florya – Yeşilköy – Yeşilyurt – Ataköy – Bakırköy – Yenimahalle – Zeytinburnu – Kazlıçeşme – Yenikapı – Sirkeci – İstanbul Boğazı – Üsküdar – İbrahimağa – Söğütlüçeşme – Feneryolu – Göztepe – Erenköy – Suadiye – Bostancı – Küçükyalı – İdealtepe – Süreyya Plajı – Maltepe – Cevizli – Atalar – Başak – Kartal – Yunus – Pendik – Kaynarca – Tersane – Güzelyalı – Aydıntepe – İçmeler – Tuzla – Çayırova – Fatih – Osmangazi – Gebze
